iPod

MISSING:
One blue iPod with a blue case.
missing for approx 12 hours... since my last plug in to charge and update songs.
IF FOUND
please return to Britt, who may have to watch TV (blah) and may not be able to log her next run on Nike Plus (boo!) if said iPod is not found soon.

I have been called into work from 330-730 on account of a sick co-worker, so I will have to put some groundschool on hold and do my run after work tonight... which may prove difficult considering the large amount of people who work out on Monday nights...

I may have to run outside... BRRRR.

Short Runs and Emergency First Aid

13.8 km in 1:30:20 on the 2nd, 4.31 miles in 44:19 on the 4th, 2.21 miles in 25:04 today.

I need to find a conversion chart or something because this mix and match mile/km thing is driving me batty!

I am trusting my training schedule and doing a slow, short run once a week even though I feel like everyone in the gym is wondernig when I am actually going to start running and working hard when I do them. I barely break a sweat, and that feels weird to me.

I should be barley able to see and have a saoking towel when I am done if I do it right!!

I had emergency first aid training this morning and as usual hope that I never had to use it... very good course though and I am CPR-C recertified for another year. This is a requirement for the BCRPA fitness certifications as well, so two birds, one stone.

I noticed while applying for the CSTC that my mil ID and my 404 military drivers license have expired... oops... so I will hopefully be doing some of those in the spring to get them GTG for the summer.

Writing the groundschool stuff is great so far, and navigating all over the internet to bring together pertinent and meaningful information is a challenge! So much crap on the internet!!!

So cross training tomorrow and a long run again on Monday... I may need to invest in a cooler shirt... the temperature kind!

Sprinting... how amazing your body is if you let it be...

Feb First did 10.16 km in one hour 9 min. That includes a warm up and cool down of about 4 minutes either side of the actual run part...
A little bit quicker than my 10k a few weeks ago. And for sure did not feel as tired at the end.

Today was 12.9 km in 1h 30 min... again with a warm up and cool down on either end, but I decided to crank up faster and faster as I got closer to the goal. A full sprint for about the last km really made me realize that I can go harder. I can run those distnaces in faster times than I am right now and I can do this thing hard!!

Pushed through a bit of shin pain... well ignored it until it gave up and went away is more like it. Just stretched a bit longer and need to get started on my weight training to strengthen up those running muscles! The fact that I need to have a program made for me for the practicum part of my fitness certification helps me make an excuse for doing it! I would probably just ignore most of the strength stuff unless I have a trainer (who I work with and am probably friends with) pushing me along.

All is well in the world of Britt... I'm off to read about carb loading and find articles on the best sports bras the world has to offer...
