BCRPA... and dancing...

Did a 30 minute fastish run Friday morning before work. It felt a little odd to run for such a "short" time after that big one this week!!

Swam lanes on Thursday to give the old knees a rest, and I am really enjoying the pool. I am going to try and get to the aquatics classes here at the YMCA a little more often as I can work really hard in them if I want!!

Finished the basic fitness theory class today and wrote the exam for the BC Rec and Parks Association certification. Kinda the first step to personal training.

Quick internet stop before I am off to other work, so today has become my (forced) day off.
Tomorrow I think I'm doing about 4 miles, I'll have to check the workout sched I made at the Running World magazine site. Great info, great site.

Mondays will be my long run day as I did my best to get them off from both works.
I also am going to get set up with a new weight training program as part of my BCRPA certification process, so that will be a nice compliment to boat loads of cardio.

I have posted the following on the ceiling above my bed for the days I would rather just sleep in,

"Good is not good enough when your goal is excellence."

If that doesn't get me out of bed, the fact that my race time will stay on google for eternity may...

Trials and Tribulations of Marathon Training...

I have decided to revive the Inverted on Winch Blog as a marathon training blog.
I have signed up for (and paid for) the Edge to Edge marathon on Vancouver Island. You can check it out at
http://www.edgetoedgemarathon.com/
to see what it's all about.

I will be posting my mileage and times, as well as the crosstraining I'm doing and the whole-hearted love hate/pain elation feelings that I am sure I will be having as we go.

We start today with a "day off." I ran a half marathon in 2hrs 18 min, which included a warm up and cool down in that time, yesterday, and todays day off is a swim and a steam room before work at three.

Here we go people, just do it.
